Obituary of Robert Vincent Boyle

Robert Vincent Boyle, age 80, died suddenly on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Mr. Boyle was born December 6, 1931 in Paterson, the son of the late Thomas and the late Catherine (Day) Boyle. Mr. Boyle lived in Whiting and was formerly of Paterson and New Port Richey, FL. He served in the US Navy during Korean War. Mr. Boyle was a Lieutenant with the Paterson Police Department, retiring in 1981 after 25 years. He was a former member of St. Gerard's RC Church in Paterson and St. Thomas Aquinas RC Church in Florida; Mr. Boyle was also a Life member of P.B.A. Local #1; Life member of NJ Basketball Officials; and a former member of the Totowa Elks. Mr. Boyle survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years Doris (Chlebowski) Boyle; his loving children; Denise Mann, Laura Trabona; Catherine McGinnis and her companion Tony Galietti, and Stephen and his wife Valerie Boyle; his 10 devoted grandchildren and 7 cherished great-grandchildren; and his dear sister Barbara Boyle. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Mark Giordani on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gerard Majella R.C. Church, 501 West Broadway, Paterson. Memorial donations in Mr. Boyle's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
