Obituary of Marie Adele Paynton

Marie Adele (Gordon) Paynton, age 79, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Kindred Hospital, Wayne. Mrs. Paynton was born June 15, 1933 in Jersey City, the daughter of the late Leonard and the late Charlotte (Catz) Gordon. She moved to Wayne in 1956 and was formerly of Teaneck. Mrs. Paynton retired as the director of Gilbert & Sullivan Theatre Company in Ridgewood, in 1995 where she was also a soprano and stage performer Mrs. Paynton was the beloved wife of 60 years of Edward T. Paynton; loving mother of Laura and her husband Mark Kraus; devoted grandmother of Robert Paynton Kraus; dear sister of Charlotte Pennington; and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews, including Nancy, Joyce and Bill. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday August 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be celebrated by Rev. Carmela Vuoso-Murphy. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
