Obituary of Benard A. Thomas Sr.

Benard A. Thomas, Sr., age 92, of Wayne died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Christian Health Care Center, Wyckoff. Mr. Thomas was born June 14, 1910 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Anthonius and the late Hillegonda (Hyunga) Thomas. His wife Marion Mame (Scripture) predeceased him in 1985. They summered at Lake Mohawk since 1926. He was the Founder and President of Thomas Construction, Wayne, NJ. Mr. Thomas was a Past President of the NJ Building Trade Association. He was a member of the Advisory Board and a Director at Prospect Park National Bank. Mr. Thomas was a member of the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne and the Lake Mohawk Country Club as well. He is survived by two sons: Benard W. and His Wife Diane Thomas of Wayne, NJ, and Richard D. and his wife Patricia Thomas of Franklin Lakes, NJ, 6 grandchildren: Benard,III, Michele, Scott, Sean, Margaret, and Michael and 4 great grandchildren: Allison, Stephanie, Erin and Catherine. Visiting hours will be Friday, November 1, 2002 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Saturday at the funeral home at 9:15 AM and then at 10:15AM at Our Lady Of The Valley R. C. Church, 620 Valley Rd., Wayne where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Msgr. James O'Rorke. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
