Obituary of Matthew Edward Faenza

Matthew Edward Faenza, age 76, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, MA after a brief illness. Mr. Faenza was born September 22, 1938 in Franklin, MA the son of the late E. Edward and Elizabeth (Feeley) Faenza. He was a resident of Hillsboro Beach, FL, and was formerly of Franklin, MA and Ringwood, NJ. He met his wife, Phyllis, while commuting on the train to Boston and the two married in 1959. They raised five successful, loving children. Mr. Faenza was a graduate of Northeastern University and earned a BS in Pharmacy. He was employed by Eli Lilly & Company for many years before purchasing McDermott Pharmacy on Union Avenue in Paterson, operating it until 2003. Mr. Faenza was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. Mr. Faenza is survived by his children, Daureen and her husband Jack Donohoe, Jeffrey and his wife Lori, Pamela and her husband William Henderson, Christopher and his wife Annette, and Timothy and his wife Robyn; his grandchildren, Devin, Jeffrey, Andrew, Kathryn, Christopher, Bridget, Elizabeth, Timothy, Michael, Matthew, Jack, Daniel, Kelly and Grace; his sisters Regina Ristaino, and Phyllis Ryan; his brother Bernard Faenza; sister-in-law Barbara Fournier; brother-in-law Maurice Jalette; and his loving companion Phyllis Field. He was pre-deceased by his sister Janet Hurd. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Rec) in 2006. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes and will be celebrated by Fr. Frank Sevola.
