Obituary of Marie Grace Weis

Marie Grace (Schaefer) Weis, age 89, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital. She was born December 27, 1924 in West Hoboken, the daughter of the late Adolph and the late Magdaline (Heinlein) Schaefer. Mrs. Weis lived in Wayne. She was a retired sales representative previously employed by Marcal Paper Products Inc. in Elmwood Park and then a kitchen helper at DePaul High School. Mrs. Weis was a founding member of Our Lady of Consolation and a member of the prayer group. She was also a member of the Wayne Golden Age Club and she loved to travel. Mrs. Weis is survived by her beloved children, Martha Weis and her husband George Podgorski, Robert M. Weis, Joseph P. and his wife Tracy Weis, and Thomas Weis; her loving grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Nicholas, Hannah, Andrea and Shannon; and her cherished great-grandchildren Tristin, Taryn, and Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Robert J. Weis. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will follow in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
