Obituary of Valentine Alexander

Valentine (Stark) Alexander, age 85, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at home in Ringwood. Mrs. Alexander was born July 17, 1929 in Landau, Ukraine, the daughter of the late Johann and the late Tatjana (Pavlovna) Stark. She earned an associated degree in business in Germany then came to the United States in 1957, residing in Jackson Heights before moving to Ringwood. Mrs. Alexander attended the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Wayne and she was a member of the Senior Citizens of Ringwood. Mrs. Alexander was a travel agent for M-Tor Travel Agency in Pompton Lakes for over 20 years. She loved to travel and entertain. Mrs. Alexander is survived by her beloved daughter Lisa Khawaja and her husband Frank Gonzalez; her loving grandchildren Tatiana Khawaja, Natasha Khawaja and Alexander Gonzalez; her dear sister Antonina Van Winkle; and one niece and two nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Alexander in 2013 and her brother, Victor Stark. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with a Panikhida with Fr. Paul Kucynda at 3:00 pm. The funeral Mass will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Novo-Diveevo Convent, 100 Smith Road, Nanuet, NY. Interment will follow at the Novo-Diveevo Cemetery.
