Obituary of Joan Anna Braunlin
Joan Anna (Cunningham) Braunlin, age 79, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Care One At Madison, Morristown. Mrs. Braunlin was born November 26, 1934 in Paterson, the daughter of the late John C. and the late Sarah (Hunt) Cunningham.
Mrs. Braunlin was married for 51 years to her husband Charles. They loved traveling to Europe, especially Austria. Mrs. Braunlin was a member of the Pompton Reformed Church and the Circle of Miriam. She also taught Vacation Bible School at the Church.
Mrs. Braunlin graduated from Newark State Teachers College with a BS. She retired in 1992 from Lenox Elementary School, Pompton Lakes, where she taught for 25 years. She was a member of the NJREA, NEA and PCNJREA.
Mrs. Braunlin was an avid knitter and sewer for newborns at Chilton Hospital and one of the founding parents of the V.I.P. nursery. She was also a member of the Passaic County Lupus Foundation, past member of Rainbow Girls, and a worthy advisor of the Order of Eastern Star Germainia Chapter, Paterson.
Beloved mother of Joan and her husband Mark Warner; Devoted grandmother of Christin and Michael; Loving sister of Dorothy S. Beisler; and Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Frederick, III; daughter, Cathy Lee Iczkowski; and sister, Ruth B. Finkle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Pompton Reformed Church, 59 Hamburg Tpke, Pompton Lakes.
Visiting on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
