Obituary of Robert E. Van Way
Robert Elliott Van Way, 75, of Butler, NJ, passed away to be in the presence of our Lord on Saturday, October 29th. He was born on September 23, 1947 in Paterson, and raised in Totowa where he also raised his own family after marrying Georgeann Van Way in 1970. Robert is celebrated for his ever-present kindness, humor, and unconditional love for family and close friends.
First and foremost, he was a dedicated husband and father. His lifelong partnership of 49 years with his late wife Georgeann was a model of true love. Robert treasured his entire family, especially his grandchildren. As an only child, his cousins were his brothers. He provided his family and friends with many unforgettable memories including Super Bowl parties, poker games, pool parties, BBQs, and bike rides around town with his children. Robert loved the NY Giants and Ford Mustangs.
Robert started his career as a production and inventory manager for BrightStar in Clifton, NJ. With his passion for cars, he changed careers and became a car salesman at Totowa Dodge, rounding out a 25 year career at Route 46 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram in Little Falls, NJ.
He is survived by his son David Van Way and daughter-in-law Lisa, his daughter Carrie Gregory with husband Peter, grandchildren Jenna, Alexander, and Anastasia, brother-in-law James Tummino with wife Bonnie and his niece Brianna.
In memory of Robert, donations can be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation (www.yourcpf.org). A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Moore's Home for Funerals-Wayne, on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Please arrive at 2:00pm for a Pastoral Service at 2:30pm.
