Obituary of William Eugene Umstead

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of William E. Umstead of Pompton Lakes, N.J. at age 92 on Monday September 5, 2022. William had an easy smile and a big heart. He remains a wonderful man whose positive spirit will echo on. He was loved by everyone, even those that only knew him briefly. William was a devoted husband to the late Bertha Umstead, and a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his four children, William Umstead and wife Chris, Theresa Leach, Marion and Raymond Adams Sr. and Ronald Umstead and wife Diane. He is also survived by his grandchildren William Umstead, Jr., Michele Parkins and husband Kim, Jamie Malouin, Danielle Adams, Raymond Adams Jr. and wife Michele, Travis Umstead and Tiffany Umstead. He was especially proud to have enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren, Zara, Kalib, Tyler and Fletcher. He is also survived by his brother Chester Umstead and wife Sissy, James Umstead and sister Doris Marion. Visiting hours will be Friday September 16, 2022 from 10-12 pm at Moore's Home for Funerals 1591 Alps Rd in Wayne followed by a celebration of William's life at 12 PM. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.
