Obituary of Walter Meyer

Walter Meyer, age 88, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Wayne. Mr. Meyer was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Edmund and the late Mary Agnes (O'Connor) Meyer. He was raised in Broad Channel, NY and lived in Wayne. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean war. He earned a BS from the Academy of Aeronautics and was employed by TWA NY, as an Aircraft Mechanic & Maintenance Supervisor. Walter was a member of the Garden State TWA Seniors Club. Mr. Meyer was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church and taught CCD classes there. Walter could fix anything and was often helping family and friends with his amazing ability. He is survived by his Loving wife: Joan (Wiatrak) Meyer; Dear brother in law : Kenneth M. & sister in law Rona E. Wiatrak and sister in law & brother in law, Janice & Carmine Zecchino and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2-4 PM. The memorial service will be at 3:00 pm and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo.
