Obituary of Gail Abbott

Gail Abbott, age 86, died Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Ms. Abbott was born in Paterson, NJ the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Henrietta (Schaaf) Abbott and lived most of her life in Haledon. She worked as a clerk in the Haledon Tax Office and prior to that as an auditor in the accounting department of the Alexander Hamilton Savings & Loan in Paterson. Gail was a long time member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Hawthorne. An avid cat lover, she rescued many, many cats over the years and also enjoyed going to theatre very much. She is survived by her nephew Nevin Albrecht and his wife Pauline, her niece Althea Gidos and her husband Wayne and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her brother Andrew Albrecht and her sister Gladys Healy. Visiting hours will be Friday February 11, 2022 from 4-8 PM and the funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 am both at Moore's Home for Funerals 1591 Alps Rd. in Wayne. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Gail's memory to St. Clement's Episcopal Church, 271 Lafayette Ave, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
