Obituary of Judith O'Connor
Judith Campbell O’Connor, 76, passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2021 at her home in Wayne, NJ surrounded by her family. She battled idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Few people knew the extent to which she struggled with this disease, because her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain. She always stayed positive and kept her sense of humor even on the hardest of days.
Born on February 21st, 1945 at Columbus Hospital in Newark, NJ to Bruce Campbell and Doris Raymond Campbell. Judith grew up in Clifton NJ, with her brother Bruce. She married James O’Connor on December 1st, 1964, and relocated to several parts of the United States through business, finally settling in Wayne, NJ.
Judith was a beautiful kind soul who loved her family to the end. She and James, married for 57 years, raised three children, Judy, Jimmy and Jennifer. Jimmy passed away on January 6th, 2021, at age 53. She leaves behind her brother Bruce, her two daughters, Judy and Jennifer, her four loving Grandchildren Nicholas, Hailey, Shane, Alyssa and her husband Shenol, and Shane’s loving friend Michael Casella. Also, her sisters-in-law Margaret Johnson, Marcel O’Donnell and her husband Tom, and her daughter in-laws Kim O’Connor and Mary Fryman. She was an Aunt, Great Aunt, and Great Great Aunt to many adoring nieces and nephews.
Judith loved cooking and was a fond collector of cookbooks. She was always first to share a recipe, usually from memory. While living in Illinois, she owned a specialty tea and coffee shop called the Butlers’ Pantry. She played piano, loved the beach, her pets and most of all spending time with family.
