Obituary of Robert Meyer

Robert Meyer aka "Robo", age 56, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, with the love and support of his family and close friends by his side. Robo was born in Queens, NY, and raised in Waldwick, NJ before settling in Wayne, NJ. He was a proud lifelong Tool & Die Maker. During his years at Waldwick High School, he was a varsity athlete in football, wrestling, and track & field. He later coached youth sports for many years including roller hockey and basketball. He was a season ticket holder of the New York Jets, and section 320 was where he would start the chant, "J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS!" Robo was an avid fisherman, particularly fond of fishing for striped bass. He enjoyed gardening and growing all sorts of fruits and vegetables. He loved sharing his fresh crops with family, friends, and neighbors. Well known for his culinary skills, he was especially famous for the delicious grub he made on his beloved Traeger smoker grill, which included the best beef jerky you'd ever tasted. Rob was a creative at heart, he participated in events with his children such as science projects, Halloween costume contests, and many other activities. In his later years, he loved to be by his wife's side going out to dinner, hanging with close friends, and even getting pedicures together. "Robo" will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Silvia Meyer, his children Brian, Niza, Jacqueline and Kevin, his sister Antoinette and his nephew Noah. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 318 Newark-Pompton Tpke, Pequannock, NJ and will be Celebrated by Father Stephen Prisk and followed by the repast.
