Obituary of Michael E. Starrs

Michael E. ''Coach'' Starrs, a lifelong resident of Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on August 8th at the age of 72. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne was his passion, coaching football for over 40 years and serving as a member of the Board of Directors He genuinely cared about the kids and making a difference in their lives, having impacted generations of youth in Wayne He leaves behind his wife :Carol (of 39 years), a son Brian, daughter-in-law Kaitlyn and 2 grandchildren Jack and Meredith (both age 7). He was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth (Federico) Starrs. Mike is now in God's hands; may he rest in peace. Visiting hours will be Friday, August 13, 2021, from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be Friday at 7:30 pm. Private Cremation will follow. Memorials may be made to Boys and Girls Club, 153 Garside Avenue, Wayne, NJ 07470, BGCNWNJ.ORG
