Obituary of Jean Intoppa

Jean (Melillo) Intoppa, age 88, Passed away Wednesday June 30, 2021, at home, surrounded by her adoring family. Jean was born in Paterson to the late Vincenzo and Josephine Melillo on November 11, 1932. She grew up in a close, loving Italian family, the youngest of five children. After completing Nursing School at Paterson General, Jean worked as an RN for over 40 years. Her occupation described her perfectly, as someone w40 always looked after others before herself. Jean is survived by the love of her life, Angelo Intoppa whom she married on April 28, 1957. They were blessed with a loving marriage for 64 years. Together they have two children, Angela (Michael) and David (Kelly). She was the "Best Nana Ever" to Michael (Brittany), Gina (Ferid), Alexandra, and Nicholas (Emma) Maffei and Kyle (Kelsey), Samantha, and Sara Intoppa, and great grandmother to Maverick Intoppa and Nate Ashkenazi. She is survived also by her sister Angelina Kimble. Jean had an easy laugh and an ever-present smile. Her heart was filled with joy which she shared with her family, friends, and everyone she met. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 10am at Our Lady of Consolation RC Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke. in Wayne.
