Obituary of Ignazio Joseph D'Agati

Ignazio "Iggy" D'Agati, age 95, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Sunrise of Wayne. Mr. D'Agati was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Sebastiano and the late Carmela (Profaci) D'Agati. He lived for many years in the Pines Lake Section of Wayne. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. D'Agati was a graduate of NYU in New York City and went on to become a Mechanical Engineer, P.E., and was a founder and partner in the engineering firm of E.D.C. Inc. of Ramsey. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Pompton Lakes for over 50 years and sang in the choir. He was also a former member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a past President of the Pines Lake Association. Mr. D'Agati had many hobbies and interests throughout his life, but his greatest love was for his beloved wife Lucille and his family. He is survived by his wife Lucille A. (Donnolo) D'Agati, his children Camille Scully, Thomas, Andrea Cava, Linda Brophy and Paul, and his daughter-in-law, Kathy D'Agati, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Michael. Visiting hours, will be Monday, June 28, 2021 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave., Pompton Lakes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery, West Milford. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's R.C.
