John was an incredibly funny, caring, thoughtful man. I have many fond memories of him and our long talks. He always treated me and my family like his own. John was a great man and will be missed dearly. Love, Anjin Luzuriaga and family.

When I started in the post office in 1985, I was assigned to John as a rookie letter carrier. I rode with John for several days and he taught me the ins and outs of being a carrier. I learned a lot in those days and it stuck with me my whole career. We became good friends, and John being an avid motorcyclist, got me into motorcycle riding. He always used to say," don't worry, once it goes over 5mph, you'll never fall down". We were also members of Cherry Ridge shooting range. Spent many hours on the range and having a great time. Many great memories. Its always hard losing a long time friend. My condolences to the Rodrigues family. My God Bless, JR.

As a rookie working at the post office,john,being a veteran mail carrier, took me under his wing and showed me the ropes of being a mailman. John had a huge heart and was always willing to help someone.I’m very glad I got to work with john, and even more happy that we became good friends..I’m very sorry to hear about this. Our friend John was our mail carrier for many, many years. Every day when he stopped in, he always greeted us with a big smile and, often, a good joke. Over the years we became friends and we'd invite him to all of our parties. He was kind & generous, always ready to help and true to himself (whether you liked it or not!). John, we will miss you sorely. Thank you for your service. Thank you for all the laughs & love. We hope to catch you on the other side. Peace.
