Obituary of Betty Lou Ambrogio

Betty Lou (nee Melvin) Ambrogio (90) died peacefully at home in Washingtonville, NY with family on July 18, 2020. Betty was born in 1929 to the late John and the late Marie (nee DeKnegt) and grew up in Totowa Boro, NJ. In 1948 she married the love of her life Carmen Ambrogio (d.2015), together they had three children Linda (Simpson b.1949 d.2001), Carmen Jr. (b.1952) and Gail (b. 1960) and her husband Jack Geissler. They also have grandchildren, Michael, David (Amber), Carol, Allyson, Kyle (Virginie), and Jacqueline; great-grandchildren, Kayla (Tion), Steven, Cara, Matthew, Lucas, Camille, Madilynn, Dacsten and Evyanna; and a great-great grandchild Jayden. In addition to her husband Carmen, and her daughter Linda, she was also predeceased by a grandson, Mike. Carmen and Betty spent most of their married life together in their home in Bloomingdale, NJ, with their children and eventually grandchildren. Betty was dedicated to her children, staying home to raise them and later her grandchildren, she will be deeply missed by them all. The family will be celebrating her life with a private graveside service at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County of New York.
