Obituary of Georgeann Van Way

Georgeann (Tummino) Van Way, 68, of Riverdale, NJ, passed away to be in the presence of our Lord on Friday, May 29th. She was born on June 26, 1951 in Paterson, and raised in Totowa where she also raised her own family after marrying Robert Van Way in 1970. Georgeann is celebrated for her ever-present kindness, overwhelming generosity, and unconditional love for family, close friends, and all others she gracefully touched. First and foremost, she was a dedicated wife and mother. Her lifelong partnership of 49 years with her husband Robert was a model of true love and she treasured her family, especially her grandchildren who were a great source of strength and joy for her. She provided her family and friends with many valued traditions and unforgettable memories. Georgeann cherished her role as a full-time home maker and stay-at-home mom until returning to work circa 1990. She had various jobs but was most well-known in town as the St. James school crossing guard. Her career after that brought her to Berdan Institute and later retired from Travelers Insurance. Georgeann is survived and will be forever missed by her loving husband Robert; son David and wife Lisa, daughter Carrie and husband Peter; grandchildren Jenna, Alexander, and Anastasia; her brother James and his wife Bonnie; and her niece Brianna. In memory of Georgeann, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.JDRF.org). A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
