I was so sorry to hear of Pop Walker’s passing. He was always so nice to me. I think my best memory with Pop was when I was eight years old and I was able to share the video of my first flight lesson with him. He was so happy for me. We sat together sharing stories about our flying experiences and our mutual love of aviation. I always looked forward to seeing him at Aunt Pat and Uncle Greg’s. I will really miss our talks and spending time with him.
Blue skies and tailwinds...

I was so sad to hear of Mr. Walker’s passing. I want to offer my deepest condolences to Greg, Pattie, Laura, Charles, Mary, Wayne, and Caleb; Ed and Joan; Carolyn, Mark and Zach; and Wanda. He was such a kind, thoughtful, gracious gentleman.
I also wanted to share a picture I took back in the 90s, it’s of him playing “beach ball volleyball” at one of the many summer barbecues at Greg and Pattie’s house. It was boys against the girls! It brought to mind a line from the poem, How Will They Remember You? by Betty Loosmore, the poem asks “did you play with the children or did they only get in your way?” Mr. Walker always played with the children! And he never made anyone feel that they were in his way. He will be missed, he truly was one of a kind!
Love,
Lorreen

I couldn't have been more blessed to have Pop as my Grandfather, my son's Great-Grandfather and patron of the Walker family for so many years (not to mention some great genes that I can only hope to have inherited).
Pop showed up for life with enthusiasm and a strong will every single day. He has been a pillar of love and an example of friendship and hard work to so many who knew him as well.
Thanks to all for the kind wishes and love. Special hugs to my Dad-Greg, Aunt Carolyn, Uncle Ed, Mom, Mark, Zack, Wanda, Laura and Charles who dedicated much time and support to Pop in his later years. We are blessed beyond a doubt. Hallelujah ♡

This week I’ve seen Pop Pop’s love and wisdom reflected in the actions and words of those of us lucky enough to know him. He instilled in me so many values like ingenuity, loyalty, discipline and compassion always leading by example. Some of my favorite memories of Pop Pop are the ones that catch me by surprise. Like when I try a new food and realize Pop was right. I’ve been missing out on the good stuff. When something is broken and I have the skill to fix it. When I see someone in need and have the will to help. When I enjoy the beauty and history of a place because of the stories he’s shared with me. I am so blessed to be the granddaughter of such an amazing man and will carry him with me always.

I only met George a hand full of times but I could tell right away he was a special kind of person. Warm, loving, adventurous, and a real family man. From the sounds of it he had a good life and i know he had a loving family to share it with. Patti would say "Pop's off on another trip", and I would always think "I hope I'm as lucky as he is at that age". Jay and I send our Condolences to the whole family.

We always think of George Walker as a gentleman's gentleman, patiently sharing his century of invaluable life experiences. He left us in awe, time and time again. Poppy's insight left us continually wanting more. His many experiences reminded us of things we've read in National Geographic, The Farmer's Almanac, Time/Life history books, Air & Space, magazines, and so many more. We are so blessed to have had Poppy as such a loving, valuable, patient, sharing mentor, friend, and family member. Poppy will forever remain in our hearts with cherished memories.
Love Aways,
Daniel, Lyn, Barry & Family

How lucky we were to have such a remarkable Uncle George in our lives ! He took great interest in un and told us family stories.
When I was a teenager he and Auntie Virginia hosted me at their summer vacation spot. He was eager to take me to an amusement park and kept me company on the rides including the roller coaster that ended going through water and getting
us soaking wet.
As a family we looked forward to his visits to Concord, MA, Cape Cod and Maine. He always could eat the most corn on the cob and keep the conversation lively. More than once he rescued us. Two times come to mind right away: He stayed at our Concord home while a big project was under construction and we were away. Uncle George was a craftsman and knew the details of building things. When we returned from our 10 day trip, he had a 27 page notebook recording the work done each day. Our contractor told me when the construction was completed that he had " learned quite a bit from Uncle George." A few years later he helped us again when we bought a small lake camp in Maine. He volunteered to attend the inspection. It was a huge relief having him there to ask the right questions. He deemed the house solid and so it has been.
Uncle George has always been a special person to us ....always positive, helpful, modest, and caring. He was fun to talk with and had a breadth of knowledge about many many subjects. We will miss him as we count our blessings to have known him for 70
plus years.

My condolences to the family. It is a very sad time for all of you. He did have a long and full life filled with love, children, grandchildren and he lived long enough to hear his first great-grandchild call him "Big Pop." He will be missed. To all that loved him, I wish you kinder and gentler days ahead.

Mr. Walker or Grandpa Walker was like family to us Eitels. With countless visits to our Thanksgivings, birthday parties, graduations, and more, Grandpa Walker was always having a blast, laughing, and asking what was on the menu for the day. He brought many smiles to our faces, and to the faces of many others. How lucky we were to have him as part of our lives.

My favorite memories of George:
I just want to say the one I found most memorable was his ability to be present to his grandchildren, Zach, Mary, Laura, and Charles. I know that they will miss him very much.
He could also make complete strangers happy by just being with him.
This is just one of the many gifts he gave to those who knew him.
Fondly,
Mary McGill

Pop;
Thank you for your kindness and love to me and Greg and our children, Mary, Laura and Charles and grandson, little Caleb.
I remember all the time you spent outside gardening and I thought of you when I read this quote.
"The lesson I have thoroughly learnt, and wish to pass on to others, is to know the enduring happiness that the love of a garden gives. I rejoice when I see anyone, and especially children, inquiring about flowers, and wanting gardens of their own, and carefully working in them. For love of gardening is a seed that once sown never dies, but always grows and grows to an enduring and ever increasing source of happiness."
Love,
Pattie and Greg
