Obituary of Louis B. Gaczek

Louis B. Gaczek, age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Mr. Gaczek was born April 22, 1933 in Garfield, the son of the late Benjamin and the late Johanna (Kordosky) Gaczek. He lived in Garfield where he met his wife of 55 years, Catherine. They moved to Wayne in 1964 where they raised four children - Kevin, Mark, Cindy and Glen. Louis enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Gaczek served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at Mark Lighting for many years as a draftsman, then at the Springfield School System until retirement. Mr. Gaczek is survived by his beloved daughter Cindy and her husband Rich Brock, and sons Kevin and Glen; his cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Caitlin and Casey, and great-grandchildren Eloise and Nora; his dear sister Elanor Wanner and brother Eddie Gaczek. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Bolcarvoic) in 2011, and son Mark Gaczek in 2003. Friends are welcome to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne. Interment will follow in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mr. Gaczek's name to your favorite charity.
