Obituary of Karl J. Kamer

Karl J. Kamer, age 83, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at home in Wayne. Mr. Kamer was born January 17, 1931 in Olten, Switzerland, the son of the late Karl J. Sr. and the late Frieda (Stultz) Kamer. He attended college in Switzerland and was employed by First Union Bank in North Brunswick as a banker, retiring 17 years ago. Mr. Kamer was a member of the Masonic Temple Hawthorne Fortitude Lodge No. 200, Ramsey for 55 years. Mr. Kamer is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Frances(Waltz) Kamer; his loving children, Denise and her husband Kim Pugsley, and Karl J. Kamer, III; his devoted grandchildren, Nicholas, Jess, and Chad and his wife Melissa; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Madison, Tyler and Emma. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 Ramapo Ave, Pompton Lakes and will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen Rozzelle. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Memorial donations in Mr. Kamer's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
