Obituary of Mary Marie Geissler

Marie (nee Polito) Geissler passed away February 8, 2020, at the age of 89. She was a resident of Paterson for 23 years, and before that, she resided in Hawthorne. Born December 31, 1930 to the late Patrick and Leona (nee Gantner) Polito, of Fair Lawn. Marie was one of eight children. Mrs. Geissler worked at Bio Craft and in later years she was a school bus aid. Marie loved her friends and family, of which she had many. Although we are saddened by her passing, she will be remembered in our hearts forever. She was the beloved wife to Jack (John) Geissler, married on December 13, 1953. Jack preceded Marie in death on June 10, 1992. Marie is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jack (Gail) and Tom (Pat) Geissler; as well as five grandchildren Allyson, Carol (Lee) Feliciano, Kyle (Viriginie) Elston, Jacqueline; five great grandchildren, Steven, Caraliese, Lucas, Mathew and Camille; and one sister, Cathrine Thebold. Marie was predeceased by her grandson Michael, five sisters Dorothy Reinauer of Wayne, Clara Pirone of Paterson, Rose Schwab of Riverdale, Marlene Ambrogio of Riverdale, Patricia Mc Carthy of Elmwood Park, and one brother John Polito. Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Thursday, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will follow in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Marie's name to a charity of your choice.
