Obituary of Catherine Desrosiers

Catherine Desrosiers age,54, was a graduate of Ramapo High School, Franklin Lakes, NJ and William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ, majoring in Early Childhood Education. "Cath" is survived by her daughter, Cassandra E. Petrich, a freshman at The College of NJ, and her son, Collin F. Petrich, a junior at West Milford High School, NJ; her parents: Rosalind ( (Reidy) and Robert T. Desrosiers of Venice, FL; her brothers: Robert T. Desrosiers III and his wife Rosemary (Bogden) and their children Baily Lyn and Garret all of Ringwood, NJ; Robert Morgan and his wife Denise and their daughter of Wallkill, NY; Stephen M. Desrosiers of Paramus, NJ; and her uncle, Rosalind's brother, Edward Reidy of Dracut, MA. Catherine's first joy in life was the teaching of young children which she did so enthusiastically in several Montessori schools in the Bergen County, NJ area. Upon marriage and the arrival of Cassandra and Collin, her love of teaching moved into her own home in rural Hewitt, NJ where on any afternoon, either inside or out, one could hear the playful laughter and sounds of a least a dozen children enjoying their good times at "Miss Cath's". Although "Cath" is now presently in the loving hands or our Lord and Savior, one might easily assume our Lord quickly assigned her the duty of watching over the Souls in His children's arena! Visiting hours will be Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass also will be Saturday, November 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will follow at Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), a rare and debilitating nerve disease, would be much appreciated. https://rsds.org/donate/
