Obituary of Raymond Koch
Raymond Koch, age 92, of Manahawkin, New Jersey died peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019. Mr. Koch was born May 23, 1927 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Frederick and the late Ada (Warner) Koch. He lived in Manahawkin and was formerly of Montague.
Raymond was proud to have served as a Sergeant First Class, Artillery, in the US Army during the Korean war from 1950 to 1952, earning the Bronze Medal.
Before retiring, he was employed as a program administrator for the US defense contractor,Singer Kearfott in Little Falls, NJ for 36 years.
Raymond loved traveling across the country with his wife – spending many winters in Arizona. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed tying his own flies. He loved the outdoors and being active.
He leaves behind his beloved wife: Lillian (VanDerVliet) Koch, his loving daughter: Bonnie and her husband John Gambacorta, cherished granddaughters: Rachel and Sarah and his son, George's partner Michael Weston.
He was predeceased by his loving son, George, his brother, Fred and sisters, Dorothy & Edith.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 10 AM -1PM.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 pm will be celebrated by Pastor Rick Winkle. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
