I was thinking about Melanie tonight. We met at VCU and she lived in the dorm, same floor as me.
During spring break at VCU, mid 70's my roommate and myself went to NYC. While there, we met Melanie and her brother at the then newly opened Playboy Club. We had a great time.
I'll always remember how fun, cheerful and intelligent Melanie. I googled her name tonight and am saddened, shocked and stunned to have learned of her passing. I extend my deepest sympathy to all of Melanie's family and friends. I am deeply sorry for all the missed yrs we lost contact.
Rest in peace dear lady.

I first met Melanie in Hillside School and remember how kind and happy she always was. Melanie was a great artist I remember looking at her art work thinking I wish I could do that! In high school Melanie was a free spirit and we shared many good laughs during study hall. Her passing is a lost to all of us who knew her.

Melanie was the first person I met when moving to a new school in third grade. She was the girl assigned to make me feel at home. A job well done! Our mother’s were Brownie and scout leaders together. Although we lost touch after graduating high school until we connected again via Facebook I am proud to have been her friend. My condolences to her family.

I have known Melanie her entire life because we lived across the street from each other and our mothers were friends. We played together as kids, chasing the ice cream truck, putting on shows and catching fireflies. She was always artistic. We were blessed to be able to reconnect on Facebook. She was special. One of a kind. I can't believe she's really gone. Rest in peace old friend.

Melanie was one of my first friends from Hillside School in Livingston. I have my class photos of us together! I was also part of Melanie’s Girl Scout Troop because her mom was our leader!
So many years went by after high school but I was THRILLED to reconnect through Facebook. A group of us had planned to get together but never set an exact date. I am so upset about that.
Here’s to a classy lady who had her priorities straight. RIP Melanie.

I met Melanie when she and Jesse were part of one of my groups as a Tour Manager in Greece. The time spent with them was fun and she was so eager to learn as much as she could about Greece and life there. We exchanged addresses and kept in touch. Several years later we met up in the UK. She and Jesse came to stay with me in London and we took a trip to Wales, my home. As I don't drive, Mel had to drive and I remember trying to explain how to negotiate a roundabout to her, which was hilarious as she had never encountered one in the US. The blind leading the blind you might say a non-driving Brit trying to explain to an American, not used to a stick shift, how to negotiate a roundabout. That was a great trip and Her company was so enjoyable. I hope she had as much fun as I did. We lost touch for a while after that and only re-connected a couple of years ago. I was shocked to hear of her passing, but as they say the good die young and she has been taken far too soon. Rest in Peace Mel.
