John was a very fine person. As leader and the backbone of the Hearty Heart Volunteers at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, he was an inspiration to all of us and the many patients we visited. He was the first person in the room when the Hearty Hearts visited me, and ultimately become my mentor. More than that, he was a true and trusted friend. I will miss him very much. John was wise and compassionate, and when he became ill and could no longer do rounds with us, many patients asked about the tall man with the cane and glasses. His concern, compassion, and advice helped numerous patients, including myself, deal with the trauma of heart transplantation. On another note, John spoke with love and pride about his loving wife and large family, and he was elated when his first great grandson was born. He could not help but smile when he learned that another grandchild was on the way. I will miss John very much, but I will always be grateful for the opportunity to call him my friend. May he rest in peace, and may he look down on us from Heaven. Norman Hymowitz

I never got to meet you John Trommelen. But knowing your son and the kind of man you raised him to be, you had to be a great man yourself. You served your time amongst the living, now it's time you do your service from heaven.
May every member of the Trommelen family find comfort in this time of loss. Never forget, to remember each moment shared, through memories he lives on.

All of us at Iggy's Auto Service are going to miss Mr. T stopping in
and visiting with us. He was a frequent visitor. We will miss his words
of wisdom and all his stories of the good old days. He always gave of
himself to the less fortunate and sick . Even when he could not walk
well or feel well he was always doing for others. I know he is now in
heaven with our dear John Montouri who passed away just a month ago.
I am sure they are sharing stories and watching over all of us.
Rest in Peace Mr. T. Thanks for the memories, You will be greatly missed.
