Obituary of John Spanedda

John Spanedda, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Mr. Spanedda was born in Seminole, PA the son of the late Anthony and the late Elizabeth (Fiori) Spanedda. He lived in Wayne, NJ for the past 24 years and was formerly of the Riverside section of Paterson. He served as a corporal in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Spanedda was the co-owner of Pennsy Coat Company which employed over 100 people in Paterson, NJ. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church. His main source of enjoyment was being with his family and his friends. Mr. Spanedda is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Emma (Veronesi); his loving daughters, Julia Welsh and her companion Stephen Defilippo, Jeanette and her husband Frank Scillieri, Carol and her husband Jim Funicelli, Elisa and her husband Guy Margolin; and sons John and his wife Susan, and Peter and his wife Debra; 15 devoted grandchildren; nine cherished great-grandchildren, and his dear brothers Sebastian and Anthony. He was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Farina. Friends are welcome to attend the memorial visitation on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. and the memorial service at 6:15 p.m. Memorials donations in Mr. Spanedda's name may be made to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, 1 Veterans Dr, Paramus, NJ 07652-4100
