Obituary of Theresa G. Tencza

Theresa G. Tencza, of Wayne, New Jersey and Delray Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018. She was born in Garfield on September 29, 1929, to the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Schweihart) Guzio and was a member of the Garfield High School graduating class of 1947. She was the beloved wife of Frank, loving mother of Lisa and her husband Jeff Collins; and devoted grandmother of Cailin Collins and her husband Heiko Yang, and Merrin Collins. She met Frank in 1948 on a blind date arranged by her late closest friend, Ella (Nardino) Conn and they were married on May 7, 1950. After initially residing in Clifton, they moved to Sierra Madre, California in 1956 as a result of Frank's employment transfer and returned to New Jersey in 1960, for the same reason. They then established permanent residency in Wayne and seasonal residency in Delray Beach, in 1980. Theresa was a member of the Pines Lake Garden Club for many years, enjoyed interior decorating and was an avid fan of the Giants and Jets football teams. She also enjoyed bridge and in addition to frequently playing the game on a computer, was active as a bridge club member in Delray Beach and casual bridge sessions in Wayne. Services are private by request of the family.
