To the loving family of Pat Skillen. I was blessed to know Pat many years ago. We worked together many years at BASF. Pat was an amazing friend, outstanding mother and she was my supervisor during my time in the graphics department. I can't speak too highly enough of her, she was just a loving, kind, caring, all around awesome person.. I just recently happened upon her obituary, I wanted to her family to know how much I admired her, and will always will.. I feel privileged and blessed to have known her.

I am truly saddened about Patty's passing. I owe so much to her that she has a very special and big place in my life, my heart and not just me, my entire family is grateful what she has done for me. She gave me my first job in this country. My first professional job, my biggest break in life, the start of my career. She cheered me, supported me, even guarded me like a mother at work. I always remembered her with respect, love and admiration and will always remember her that way. She always talked about her family, how much she loved her daughter, I always wanted a family of my own just like hers. She is one of those very few souls that I will never forget. May you rest in peace. You will be missed.

One day while visiting Patty in the hospital when I was young, Mom said "go in and see your sister"...Pat was my cousin, not my sister. The thought always stuck with me, because I wanted so much to have a sister. I didn't want to go into the hospital room because we thought we might lose her then. I went in, and to my surprise she was so happy and bubbly...I felt warm and comforted, not frightened any more. If I had a sister she would be on the top of the list. An amazing, strong loving woman even through the storms during her far too short life. Angels seem to go to Heaven first so they can guide our way. She shines bright tonight in the sky warm and comforting and at Peace. Thank you Patty for being you. You gave me faith to carry on no matter what happened. Loves and hugs to the family....my thoughts are with you.

I knew Patty for many years through the Lenni-Lenape Girl Scout Council. She was truly a lovely and special woman and I know she loved her family so much, especially her beautiful granddaughters. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to her husband, daughter and family.
