Born and raised in Enhaut Steelton, Pennsylvania, she moved to Paterson, New Jersey after she married in 1951. In 1982, she moved to Wayne, New Jersey. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and raising her puppy, Leela.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Donna Nienaber; Linda DePasquale and her husband Thomas; her grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Greg, Paul, Jolena, Tommy, Dawn and her husband Eddie, Michael and his wife Sara; and her great-grandchildren, Giano, Anjolia, Laura, Nicole and Julien; and her sister Lorraine Turns, and brother William and his wife Veronica Muzic.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Neznamy; her cherished daughter, Laura Jean Solivan; her dear siblings, Ann Bynon, Rose Zuvich, Frank Muzic and Joseph Muzic; and her brother-in-law Harry Turns.
