Obituary of Helen Sturman

Helen Sturman (nee Sumek), age 93, died Thursday, June 8, 2018, in Sarasota, FL. Mrs. Sturman was born August 20, 1924 in Spangler, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Magdalena (Gutowicz) Sumek. She was a teacher at North Jersey Developmental Center in Totowa, NJ. Mrs. Sturman lived in Wayne since 1950 before moving to Osprey, Florida.

Mrs. Sturman is survived by her loving children, daughter Lynn and her husband Nigel Mison; her son, John; and her sister, Julia Hilinski. She was predeceased by her husband John (2013); her son, Jeffrey Alan; her grandchildren, Ryan Arthur and Geri Beth; her brothers, Jan and Edward Sumek; and her sisters, Katarzyna Znamirowska, Maria Sumek, and Estelle Stanek.

Visiting hours will be Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home with a service to follow. Entombment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
