Obituary of Muriel Regina Riess

Muriel Finn Riess age 95 of Mansfield, OH, formerly of Ringwood, NJ, died peacefully on June 22, 2018 at The Waterford at Mansfield. Muriel was born September 13, 1922 in West Paterson, NJ, a daughter of the late William and Anna Brestel Finn. She was predeceased by her husband Martin M. Riess, a son Martin E. Riess and two sisters, Eleanor Finn (Sister Ann Dolores) and Janet Leavens. Those surviving to cherish her memory include five children: Ann Wood (Jerry) of Lexington, OH, Kathleen Wilder (Bob) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Bob Riess (Angela) of Dallas, GA, Bill Riess of Woodstock, GA and Tom Riess (Colleen) of Edison, NJ; twelve grandchildren: Sheri Wood, Craig Wood (Wendy) Jackie Estep (Jeremy), Jenny Purath (Kipp), Kelly Hauschild (Paul), John Wood, Daniel Riess (Rebekah), Andrew Riess, Ben Riess, Tara Riess, Kerry Riess and Heather Riess; thirteen greatgrandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Muriel worked at the A&P Corporate Headquarters for over 25 years. There are so many things we will miss about Muriel – her sense of humor, generous spirit, positive outlook, sense of family, love of learning, abiding faith, integrity and determination. We have God to thank for the gift of her 95 years and in whose hands she can now and forever rest in peace. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Waterford at Mansfield and Kindred Hospice for their unwavering love, care and compassion. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, July 1 from 3-6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of The Valley Roman Catholic Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ on Monday, July 2 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
