Obituary of Rose Marusich
Rose (Turissi) Marusich, age 88, died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Brandywine Senior Living at Middlebrook Crossing in Bridgewater with her daughter Susan at her side. Mrs. Marusich was born April 18, 1926 in Passaic, NJ the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Paulo) Turissi. She lived in Bridgewater and was formerly of Wayne. Rose graduated from Passaic High School in 1944. She was retired from Passaic General Hospital, Passaic, NJ in 1952 where she was an Executive Secretary, previously she was an administrative assistant for ITT Engineering Group. Mrs. Marusich received all of her sacraments at St. Anthony's Church in Passaic. She married Wilbur (Bill) Marusich on June 1, 1952 at St. Anthony's Church. In 1963 she became a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church and was an active member of Prime Time Seniors since its inception.
Rose was a compassionate, thoughtful, caring and loving daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt who would always put others before herself. Rose loved reading, ceramics, playing cards, traveling, creating crewel work, puzzles and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her strong faith and religious convictions guided her daily life.
She is survived by her two daughters: Susan and her husband Jack Meola of Bridgewater and their children: Melissa Anne, Jonathan Alan and Jeremy William and Joan and her husband Marty Ortman of Canton, OH and their children: Mathew Alan, Eric William and Michael Mason Ortman and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur in 1988 and her son, Alan in 1983.
Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8 PM.
The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Pat Brown.
Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
