Obituary of Elaine D'Aurizio

Elaine D'Aurizio, age 76, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Ms. D'Aurizio was born July 24, 1941 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Nicholas and the late Evelyn (Zasa) D'Aurizio. She lived in Wayne. Ms. D'Aurizio was a graduate of CW Post University in Long Island. A reporter for The Record Newspaper in Hackensack for over 30 years, she was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Ms. D'Aurizio was a member of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church. Ms. D'Aurizio is survived by her beloved sister Marlene and her husband Arthur Gerber; her loving niece, Susan Romeo and her husband Ernie and nephew, Dr. Steven Smith and his wife Debbie; and her devoted great-nieces, Sarah Joy Taveres, Samantha Evelyn Smith and great-nephew, Joel Robert Romeo. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends are welcome to attend the funeral Mass on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd, Wayne which will be celebrated by Fr. Peter Wells. Entombment will follow Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
