Obituary of Lawrence Arthur Soodak

Lawrence Arthur Soodak, age 61, died unexpectedly Monday, July 3, 2017. Lawrence was born January 13, 1956 in Mahopac, NY, the son of the late Herman and Elizabeth Larrabee. He lived in Wayne and was employed by Valley National Bank Corp for 14 years as a systems analyst. Lawrence studied zoology and computer science at the University of Vermont. On August 22, 1987 Lawrence married Kimberly Berard in Hinesburg, VT. Lawrence, a self-taught Spanish student, helped with ESL classes for over 5 years, where he earned the nickname "Dr. Pan" by bringing homemade bread to share. He enjoyed playing the flute and his hobbies were woodworking and sailing. He even built boats. Lawrence was always willing to help. As a cancer survivor and a Christian, he took joy in God. Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife Kimberly; his loving children, Kristen and Nathan and his siblings, Leslie, Allan, Bill and Gary. He was predeceased by his father, Herman. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Unity Christian Reformed Church, 339 North 11th Street, Prospect Park, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.
