Obituary of Lona Dwayne Sottile

Lona Dwayne (Kern) Sottile, age 84, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Downingtown, PA. Mrs. Sottile was born January 18, 1933 in Oakland, CA the daughter of the late Raymond and the late Franscine (Whitted) Kern.  Lona Dwayne, L.D., attended Pomona College and Georgetown University and went on to work with the CIA in both Washington, DC and EI Salvador.  She later became a high school Spanish teacher in Ramsey and, after raising her family, kept the books for her husband's dental practice.  She and her husband enjoyed travelling.  They later retired to the Poconos and Florida. L.D. enjoyed tennis, gardening and her 14 grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Kathleen and her husband Joe Nunnink, Nicholas and his wife Jacquie, Lisa and her husband Tom Calianese, and Stephanie and her husband Mark Colantuno.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas A. (d. 2008).

Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be Monday, May 22, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo.

Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
