Obituary of Arthur R. Knichel

Arthur R. Knichel, age 78, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Chilton Medical Center, Pequannock Twsp. Mr. Knichel was born April 5, 1939 in Passaic, the son of the late Charles and the late Mildred (McCormick) Knichel. He lived in Wayne. He served in the US Army from Dec 2, 1957 to Nov 17, 1960. He was retired from Becton-Dickinson, Franklin Lakes, in 1995 where he was a manager for 37 years. He then was a customer service rep. at the Corporate Office of Valley National Bank in Wayne. Mr. Knichel is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Jane (Konikowski); his loving children, Glen and his wife Stephanie, Gary and Gail and her husband Rich Wisse; his cherished grandchildren, Richie, Kaitlyn, Megan, Gary, Jr., Jake; Lauren, Logan, Jessica and Julia; and his dear brother Robert and his wife Judi. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Dennis. Visiting hours will be Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Memorial donations in Mr. Knichel's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312
