Obituary of Harriett L. Meek

Harriett L. Meek, age 86, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Ms. Meek was born July 14, 1927 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Charles Edward, Jr. & the late Agnes (Haldane) Meek. She moved to Wayne over 30 years ago. Ms. Meek graduated with a B.A. from Newark State College in 1950. She loved her job as an art teacher working with children at Bloomfield Elementary School before retiring. Being very creative, Ms. Meek organized craft fairs with her sisters for High Mountain Presbyterian Church. She created designs for many of her own hand-made crafts. Ms. Meek is survived by her loving sister Martha H. Meek. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret D. Meek in 2011. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be celebrated by Rev. Louis Allan Kilgore on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at High Mountain Presbyterian Church, 730 Franklin Lakes Rd, Franklin Lakes.
