Obituary of Ruth Van Zile

Ruth Van Zile (nee Payne) age 98 of Wayne, New Jersey went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2017. Ruth was the loving wife of sixty years to the late Edward Van Zile (2006). She is survived by her son Edward and his wife Nancy of San Tan Valley, Arizona; her daughter Beth and husband Thomas Marturano of Wayne; grandsons Steven and wife Kyla , Brian and fiancé Jennifer, Joseph and wife Kim; granddaughters, Lisa LaSpada and Alissa Marturano. She was blessed to share in the lives of her great-granddaughter Jaylene LaSpada and great-grandsons, Mason and Jacob Van Zile and Jeffrey Marturano. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Evelyn Van Zile and cherished godson Andrew Nero. Ruth was devoted to her family doing whatever she could to help ease their way. She was extremely proud of each family member and was always willing to share their accomplishments with others. Her life was long and was filled with wonderful memories. Ruth was born in Paterson, New Jersey living in Middletown, NY and Passaic, NJ for short periods of her childhood. After moving back to Paterson, she met her husband at a bowling gathering sponsored by Westside United Methodist Church on Barnes Street where she was an active member. Ruth served her church faithfully as a member of the church choir and Bible study. She joyfully participated in the Women's Wesleyan Service Guild and Couples Club. Ruth and her husband settled in Wayne living there for 66 years. Visiting hours will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home with a service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
