Obituary of Lois R. Davies
Lois R. (Richards) Davies, age 83, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at her home in Wayne, New Jersey where she had lived since the mid-1950s with her family. Mrs. Davies was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, James W. Davies. Born in Pompton Lakes, she was the daughter of the late Russell Richards and the late Winifred (Spohn) Richards.
Mrs. Davies is survived by her loving children, daughter Karen Davies, and her sons James Davies, Mark Davies and wife Terry, Steven Davies and wife Stephanie, and Drew Davies and partner Edward; her devoted grandchildren Holly, Catherine, Kevin, Rachel, James, and John; and her cherished great-grandson Allister.
A devoted homemaker and mother, she lived for family gatherings, always preparing elaborate food and decorated cakes, and for the activities of her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel with her family, whether on road trips to the Southwest or to national parks when the children were younger, or overseas trips in later years to countries such as England, Germany, and Mexico. One of her favorite places was Colonial Williamsburg, which captivated her imagination and inspired her interior design, including her homemade dried flower arrangements. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping for antiques, visiting the Jersey Shore with her daughter, classical music concerts, and even some rock & roll.
She is loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6-8PM.
There will be a private funeral service.
