Obituary of Nicholas J. Yacullo
Nicholas J. Yacullo, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington. Born in Archbald, PA, August 9, 1928 the son of the late Vito and the late Philomena (Panza) Iacullo. Mr. Yacullo was an honored and decorated Veteran of the Korean War. After receiving the Bronze Star for his service in the Army, he had a career as a butcher while raising a family in Paterson, and retired in Wilmington, NC.
Surviving are his beloved children Lisa Sisti and husband Donald of Oakland, Nicholas Yacullo and wife Lisa of Hamburg, Kim Mills and husband Daniel of Leland NC, Eric Yacullo of Leominster, MA, Ronald Van Valkenburg and wife Roseanna of Edenton, NC, Lori Cody and husband James of Wilmington; his thirteen loving grandchildren; his six cherished great-grandchildren; his dear sister Angela D'Avanzo.
He was predeceased by his wife Dolores (Carrigan) Yacullo in 1996, his sister Lucille Lawrence in 2016, and his brother Dante Yacullo in 1996.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Friends are welcome to attend the funeral on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, celebrated by Fr. Gonzalo Torres.
Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
