Obituary of Nicholas James Scrosia

Nicholas James Scrosia, age 93, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Regency Gardens Nursing Center, Wayne. Mr. Scrosia was born September 2, 1923 in Bloomfield, the son of the late Francesco and the late Maria Antonia (Freggia) Scioscia. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of West Caldwell. Mr. Scrosia was employed by Otis Elevator in Harrison, as a polisher. He also worked at the Preakness movie theatre, being named employee of the month many times. Mr. Scrosia was a member of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church. Mr. Scrosia was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Mielowicki) Scrosia on June 27, 2015. He is survived by his beloved children Kathleen Borri, Elaine Cacace, Richard Scrosia, and Lori and her husband Roger Komonchak; his devoted grandchildren, Jamie Scrosia, Janine Cacace and Jessica Borri; his great-granddaughter, Michaela Avery Scrosia; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Bridget and Rose; and his brother, Jerry. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
