Obituary of Salvatore Sorce, Jr.
Salvatore L. "Sal" Sorce, Jr. 63, of Pompton Lakes, owner and operator of Sorce Construction Company, passed away at home Thursday, July 21, of cancer surrounded by his family. Sal was the beloved husband of Amelia and father of Kelly, Michael and Kevin and stepfather of Chris. He was a cherished grandfather to Jared, Ally, Gianna, and Ella and brother to his sisters, Linda and Denise. He is survived by many other relatives and dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Salvatore Sorce, Sr. and Nancy Sorce.
Sal started his own construction firm in 1975 following in his father's footsteps as a carpenter. He loved his work - designing, building, and renovating homes. Sal met his wife, Amelia, in 1999. They worked together every day, running and growing their business, and happily spent the rest of his days together.
His work is only one aspect to his legacy. He had a lot of energy and passion for life and his family. He enjoyed traveling and spent a lot of time in Costa Rica and Florida. He was the life of the party and made an impression on all that he met. He was always ready with an entertaining story or joke and knew how to stand out in the crowd.
Sal will be remembered in a memorial Mass at St. Mary's Church in Pompton Lakes, on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
