Obituary of Catherine Arata

Catherine (Graf) Arata, age 94, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Hospice of New Jersey, Wayne. Mrs. Arata was born December 8, 1919 in Plains, PA the daughter of the late William and the late Mary L. (Padden) Graf. She grew up in East Rutherford, NJ and lived in Wayne over 60 years. She was a 1937 graduate of East Rutherford High School and was the president of the library club there. She was employed by Louis A. Schiffman, Esq. Carlstadt, NJ as a legal secretary before retiring. Mrs. Arata was a member of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, Wayne She was the Beloved mother of three sons: Robert, William and his wife Gale and Bruce and his wife Rachel. Devoted grandmother of four grandchildren: Tim, Lauren, Christopher and Catherine. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren F. " Bus" on 12/23/2004. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 PM. The funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 9:30 am at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter Doody.
