Obituary of Edna E. De Old

Edna E. (Ross) De Old, age 105, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Hospice of New Jersey, Wayne. Mrs. De Old was born January 11, 1909 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Philip Anthony and the late Emma (Fichter) Ross. She lived in Wayne. Edna was a 1931 graduate of the Paterson General School of Nursing and was employed at Paterson General Hospital as a registered nurse for many years before retiring. Mrs. De Old was the oldest living member of the PGH Alumnae Association. Edna was also a member of the Totowa United Methodist Church, and the Martha Washington Chapter and the Ridgewood Chapter of the Order Of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son Alan and his wife Anita De Old; 3 grandchildren: Teri, Dawn and Kris; and 4 great grandchildren: Jenny, David, Jeremy, and Kevin. Her husband Jacob predeceased her in1969. A memorial service will be Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 9:00 am at the Totowa United Methodist Church. Mrs. De Old donated her body to the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Anatomical Association for further studies. Interment will be at a later date in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
