Obituary of Richard Paul Becker

Richard Paul Becker, Sr., age 75, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at home in Manchester. Mr. Becker was born June 11, 1940 in Newark, the son of the late George and the late Helen (Moken) Becker. Residing in Newark for 27 years, then Wayne for 46 years, he moved to Manchester in 2013. Mr. Becker was a self-employed floor mechanic, retiring 13 years ago. He was a baseball & basketball coach at Wayne PAL. Mr. Becker was a member of St Johns R.C. Church in Lakehurst and a former member of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church. Mr. Becker is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joann (Pepe) Becker; his loving children Richard, Jr. and his wife Audrey, and Sandra Becker and her fiancé Daniel Strasser; his dear sister: Christine and her husband Joseph McDermott, Sr.; and his niece, Cheryl McDermott and nephew, Joseph McDermott, Jr. Visiting hours will be Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2-7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Memorial donations in Mr. Becker's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
