Obituary of Dorothy E. Gilson

Dorothy E. (Grover) Gilson, age 94, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Preakness Health Care Center, Wayne. Mrs. Gilson was born September 25, 1921 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Henry and the late Ella (Doremus) Grover. She lived in Wayne for the last 10 years and was formerly of Bloomingdale. Mrs. Gilson retired from Manhattan Industries in Paterson-Glen Rock where she was a stock worker. She was a member of St. Agnes R.C. Church, Paterson. Mrs. Gilson is survived by her loving children, Diane Del Vecchio, Dorothy Jolley, John and his wife Cindy Gilson, and Ronald Gilson; her cherished granddaughters, Judith Russo, Melissa Gilson and Lindsey Gilson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John, one brother and five sisters. Visiting hours will be Monday, February 29, 2016 from 9-10 a.m. The funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. following visiting and will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter Doody. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
