Obituary of John Regan
John ''Buddy'' Regan, age 89, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Chilton Medical Center, Pequannock Twsp. Mr. Regan was born September 1, 1926 in New York, NY the son of the late Raymond and the late Lillian (Keach) Regan. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Paterson. He served 3 years in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed by the Passaic County Park Police as a Police Captain. Mr. Regan was also a training officer, police photographer and member of the Passaic County Scuba team. John was an avid boxer in the 1940's and participated in the Diamond gloves. He was a machinist by trade and a member of PBA Local 80, American Legion and a longtime member of Our Lady of the Valley RC Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary A. (Hannan) Regan; his children: John, Jr. and his wife Karen, Patricia and her husband Robert DeLotto, Michael and his wife Tina and Janice Puntasecca; 10 grandchildren: Danielle Schaeber, Linda Van Leeuwen, Kelly Regan, Kevin Regan, Michael and Christopher Puntasecca, Kaitlyn Regan, Casey Regan, Brendan Regan and Erin Regan; and two great-grandchildren, Adam And Caleb Schaeber.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Anthony Puntasecca, a brother, Raymond Regan and a sister, Phyllis Diamante.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Feb 18, 2016 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM.
The funeral Mass will be Friday at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
