Obituary of Mieke Harmsen

Mieke (Van Son) Harmsen, age 95, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Hospice of New Jersey, Wayne. Mrs. Harmsen was born March 4, 1918 in Amsterdam, Netherlands the daughter of the late Leendert Gijsbertus and the late Marijtje Van Son (Franken) Van Son. She lived in California until her husband passed away and most recently in West Milford. She was employed by The Paragon News in Holland as a stenographer. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerhard Bernardus in 2002. She is survived by her two daughters: Mieke and her husband Paul Nielsen, and Yvonne Hodges; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 11am -1pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 20 Youngs Road, Mahwah. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 30 Youngs Road, Mahwah. Interment will be in Happy Valley Cemetery, Anderson, CA.
